Program Standards:

Our programs are designed to meed INDOE standards for each grade level.  If you have concerns about the learning capabilities of your class, please contact the educators prior to your program.

Our programs are designed and administered by master's level professionals with a passion for learning and sharing knowledge about the environment.  If you have any questions that were not covered during your program, feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to find the answer!

 

  • enviromobile

    Enviromobile

    The Enviromobile travels to schools around Lake County providing environmental outreach programs focusing on Zero Waste, Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling.  Programs are designed for one classroom at a time, but up to three classrooms can be taught simultaneously, each with their own educator.  Teachers may register for their entire grade level. Programs typically run between 45-60 minutes in length. 

    The LCSWMD also offers Summer Enviromobile activities for day camps, libraries, YMCA programs, and various other summer programs.

  • fieldtrip

    Field trip @ the Environmental Education center

    Join us for a full day of environmental education at the EEC!  Our educators will provide a day of quality, hands-on activities for your students.  Doors open at 10:00 am for registered field trip groups and programming concludes at 1:00 pm to allow time for your buses to return to their regular routes.  Students are encouraged to think about what it takes to pack a “zero-waste lunch” as lunch time and eating spaces are provided for sack lunches.  This destination is available to Lake County, IN schools and groups (public, private, and homeschool ages preschool through adult) seeking a green experience. We look forward to hosting your group!

  • reuz-room

    Reuz Room

    Teachers, librarians, scout troop leaders, and crafters of the general public are invited to pick up supplies for their creative projects at the ReUZ Room.  Interested in donating?  Please see our list of eligible items.  Depending on current needs and available space, acceptance of certain items may be limited.  Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, but times may vary.  Please call (219) 853-2420 to schedule your appointment.
