Environmental
Education Available Through the District
Representatives from the district are available for presentations to
educators, students, schools, churches, neighborhood associations,
clubs/organizations and businesses. Please call at least two weeks in advance to
schedule a presentation or display. Call (219) 769-3820.
Business Workshops
The district will help educate your employees to your specific program for waste
reduction and recycling.
Displays
Displays on composting, household hazardous waste, recycling,
reducing-reusing-recycling, buy-recycled and landfills are available to be set
up at your location.
Resource Files
Files on many environmental topics are available as a resource to those doing
research or looking for general information.
Speakers' Bureau
Many speaking presentations include hands-on activities for household hazardous
waste, recycling, composting and environmental shopping for all ages.
Great Lakes WISE (Waste Information Series for Education)
Teacher training sessions are available during the school year at no charge to
teachers. Lunch is provided. Trained teachers receive free materials including a
curriculum binder, student readers, support classroom materials, and access to
the Enviromobile.
