Description: Explore the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore while hiking through the rolling oak savannahs and spectacular wetlands. Learn about Indiana’s wildlife and identify some of the wild and native plants found throughout the Dunes. **Please dress accordingly**

SESSION 1 Description: Discover the decomposition process of organic materials and conduct a microscopic investigation to identify the decomposers living in the compost. Create a craft of reusable materials while learning the importance and benefits of reusing.
Date: Thursday, January 10th Time: 10:30-12:00 Location: Enviroroom Program: Let it Rot! SESSION 2 Description: This session is a continuation from Let it Rot! Session 1. Students will test the fertility of their compost and develop carbon/nitrogen formulas for a healthy compost bin.
Date: Friday, February 1st Time: 10:30-12:00 Location: Enviroroom Program: Hazards on the Homefront Description: Students will learn how to identify and classify household hazardous waste found in our everyday lives. Observe the negative effects of improper HHW disposal.
