Program Standards

Field Trips
Join us for a full day of environmental education at the Environmental Education Center! Our educators will provide a day of quality, hands-on activities for your students. Field trips take place exclusively between 10am-1pm. Students will enjoy their bagged lunches brought from home in our lunchroom, where they also learn how to sort recyclables and compostable food scraps using our full recycling and composting system!

Enviromobile
The Enviromobile travels to schools around Lake County providing environmental outreach programs focusing on Waste Reduction (Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling.) Programs are designed for one classroom at a time, but up to three classrooms can be taught simultaneously, each with their own educator. Teachers may register for their entire grade level. Programs typically run between 45-60 minutes in length.

Reuse Room
Teachers, librarians, scout troop leaders, and the general public are invited to pick up supplies for their creative projects at the Reuse Room. Interested in donating? Please see our list of eligible items.
Depending on current needs and available space, acceptance of certain items may be limited. Please call (219) 853-2420 to schedule your appointment.

Summer Programs
On summer break? We have programs to break up the week! Every summer we offer a variety of fun and informative summer programs, ending in the annual Recycling Carnival!
These programs are completely free to Lake County, IN residents or students who attend a Lake County, IN school.
