Welcome to the new LCSWMD.com!
We’re excited to officially welcome Lake County residents to the newly redesigned LCSWMD.com! After months of planning, organizing, testing, and refining, the Lake County Solid Waste Management District is proud to launch a refreshed website built with one simple goal in mind: to make it easier than ever for our community to find the resources they need.
Our team works every day to help residents recycle more, waste less, and safely dispose of items that don’t belong in the trash. The new website is an extension of that mission — a central hub where Lake County residents can quickly access accurate information, register for programs, and stay informed about upcoming events and opportunities.
Designed with residents in mind
The new LCSWMD.com was developed with a strong focus on usability and accessibility. We know that when someone visits our site, they’re often looking for specific answers:
Where can I take my old TV? Is this item recyclable? When is the next collection event? How do I book a field trip?

The updated layout, navigation, and search tools are designed to help visitors get to those answers faster, with clearer categories, simpler menus, and improved mobile compatibility. Whether you’re browsing on a phone, tablet, or desktop, the experience should now feel more intuitive and consistent.
Streamlined education program reservations
One of the biggest upgrades to the new site is our revamped education program registration system. Teachers and community partners can now more easily explore and reserve our free environmental education offerings.

The updated reservation tools provide a clearer overview of available programs, dates, and expectations, helping educators plan their experiences with confidence and efficiency. Behind the scenes, this also allows our staff to better coordinate schedules and respond more quickly to requests — meaning smoother experiences for everyone involved.
A growing resource for safe disposal
Improper disposal is one of the biggest challenges facing waste management today. Many items commonly found in homes — batteries, chemicals, paint, electronics, and medications — require special handling and should never go in the trash or down the drain.
The new website places a stronger emphasis on disposal guidance and education, making it easier for residents to look up specific items and learn how to manage them responsibly. Our goal is not just to offer services, but to help residents make informed choices every day that protect the environment and public health.
Built to grow with the community
While we’re proud of what we’ve launched, we see this new website as a living resource that will continue to evolve. Over time, residents can expect more content to educate the public on safe disposal as well as community events, as well as ongoing improvements to the website based on real-world use and community needs.
That’s where you come in.
We would love to hear from you! If there is something you wish the site did better, a feature that would make your experience easier, or information you think would be helpful to add, we encourage you to share your feedback with us. Your input plays a direct role in shaping how we serve Lake County!
Thank you for being part of the process
This new website reflects the collective efforts of our staff, educators, and partners who are committed to making recycling and waste reduction more accessible for everyone. Most importantly, it reflects the growing engagement of Lake County residents who care deeply about their community and environment.
We invite you to explore the new LCSWMD.com, discover what’s available, and take advantage of the many free resources we offer. Together, we can continue working toward a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Lake County.
