We want every student in Lake County to have the chance to explore and learn at our Environmental Education Center—and we don’t want transportation costs to hold you back!
To make it easier, we offer up to $250 back per grade level, per school, each year to help cover bus expenses for your field trip.
How It Works

Take your students on a field trip to our Environmental Education Center.

Within 30 days, send a dated invoice (on school letterhead) from your district’s transportation department to Dora Mantis at dmantis@lcswmd.com.

Include payee info (name, address, school, grade level, trip date).

We’ll reimburse your school—up to $250—by check.

Any K–12 school in Lake County, IN (public, charter, parochial, or independent) is eligible.

Each grade level at your school may receive reimbursement once per school year.

Reimbursement applies only to bus transportation (not personal vehicles).
